i am super sad.. it really doesn't feel like i'm leaving tomorrow... as much as i miss home, i don't wanna go back!!! and as much as i hate the insane amount of people at EVERY HOUR of the day, i still love it VERY much!! i'm already looking forward to coming back in the "near" future... next year anyone?? ;) joking.. probably the year after? ANYWAY!!! what kinds of shenanigans was i up to today???
started off the day by meeting up with Joey!!! and then going to dim sum with my parents!!! one last time to eat the most awesome coconut dim sum dessert!!
afterwards Joey brought us to Kwai Fong for some awesome cheap shopping!!!! with my mummy of course :):)
these crazy tall buildings will always amaze me...
"MEEN BAO CHEW YUN!" aka Bread Superhero!!!!!!!!!! hehehe so cute!
the above are NOODLES.. you pick 7 bags for 10 dollars... each bag is a topping for your noodles.. (garlic, sesame, noodles, etc) and then once you choose 7, they mix it all for you in a bag and you eat it out of a bag.. its an extremely small portion of noodles so it's a perfect snack!!! i didn't get a chance to eat them this time unfortunately :( but still... 10 HKD = a buck something?!
i got a Yogurt (yoduly) drink.. $4 HKD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (i can't even tell you how insanely crazy this is.. that's like 60 CENTS CANADIAN FOR THE BEST DRINK ON EARTH!!!! how am i only discovering this on my LAST DAY!?!?!!?!
my mom bought some yarn and a couple scarves from this lady and she was teaching my mom how to knit it... so nice!
COOL!!
.....
this cat is called CHOO CHOO CAT.. so weird and strange
this kid had SO MUCH GLITTER IN HIS HAIR!!! LOL!
anyways, we went home and grocery shopped..unfortunately i totally forgot to bring my camera out and didn't snap any cool pics... i was horrified by some things i saw in this supermarket.. ch
inese people are crazy (i saw like half of a lamb hanging... with its tail and fur in tact... it was pretty gross) but i bought this hand roll... little did i know, i had to MAKE IT MYSELF.. how smart and cool is that?! so that the seaweed doesnt get all soft!! ALSO I GET THIS COOL LOOKING SOY SAUCE PACKET IN A SMALL TINY FISH!!!!!!!!!!! this is probably something Thao would take home and not open..
1. open the package flat...
2. roll the rice over to the other side.. where the seaweed is exposed..
3. put your soy sauce on..
4. then pull out the remaining seaweed and ROLL AWAY!!!
5. and it COMES OUT PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
we bought the LITTLE LAMB soup base!! yummmm :) HOT POT AGAIN..this time with my mummy and sharon and chris!!! :) Edwin and Thao switched places with my mom :) (Last time when Edwin and Thao were over, we webcammed with my mom while she was in canada.... the tables have turned!)
in HK, they give you your grad gown so that you can take pics with it afterwards.. (i've seen people whip it out at Causeway Bay Time Square to take pics infront of the christmas decoration!) Definitely something different when comparing to Canada!
But my cousin graduated this year from his Masters degree (and even thinking about doing his second) :) what a genius!!! He's an electrical engineer and went to Hong Kong Polytech university..in case any of you were wondering :) so smart.. kenny, you make us proud!!!
Desserts afterwards!!!!!! the last place!! my cousin basically told that i've pretty much gone to every "famous" HK dessert place now... any questions, you can ask me.. LOL NOT!.. not like i can tell you where they are.. (only a few).. this one was at PO LAM station..
Coconut Soup with sago and mango on the left... Almond soup with sago and mango
my dad's Durian ice.. and durian... the smell was insane.. but i dont mind it!
I hugged my parents and chris and sharon goodbye :( See you .......................in march at the earliest! :'( My parents are probably leaving in March since they have to do their china visa and wait for their money :(
