counting down...

the days till i go to HK to SOCIALIZE with friends.. :(

as much as i like this.. it's getting lonely!!
i miss my friends! thanks to those that skype with me on a daily/weekly basis :)

Food truck exploration! (Pic heavy!)

I was on my way to finding Blamwich! Food truck.. but i coudlnt find it and instead, found Perogy Boyz! (they probably beat them to the parking spot!) .. as i walked towards it, i saw the crowd of people! Hooray!!!! I FOUND A TRUCK! Those that don't know.. Toronto has regulations and stuff that don't really allow food trucks :( Shame! Either that or.... I just have been hanging out in all the wrong places!

So i line up and i'm getting more and more excited!! WHAT DO I ORDER?!?!

Here's the menu... a bit hard to see but here's a straight copy and paste from their website:

The People’s Perogies

  • Traditional - potato, cottage cheese
  • Sauerkraut - potato, onion, sauerkraut
  • Mexicali - ground beef, chili aioli, tomato ‘tartar’, green onion, cheddar cheese
  • Duck – ground duck, saskatoon berry, chive ponzu
  • Carrot Cake – dessert perogy with raisin, carrot, cream cheese, cinnamon-carmel, icing sugar

Sausages for All

  • Kielbasa – traditional pork
  • Tijuana Baba - pork, jalapeño, cheddar
  • Knackwurst - smoked veal, pork
  • Redneck - chicken, smoked chipotle, bourbon
  • Cabbage Roll - beef, sauerkraut, rice, marinara sauce

Baba’s Borscht

beets, cabbage, dill, crème fraiche

Prices were okay.. about 8 perogies for $7 and a sausage was $4..

THEN! while waiting for my food, i see ANOTHER food truck pull up right behind Perogy Boyz!!! My head was about to explode here!!

These guys were called Fiasco! They sell gelato.... and SOUP! crazy combination.. as much as i wanted to try a soup, i didn't have enough cash on me :(

SO FINALLY! i recieve my food.. and i walk back to my office with it... do i take a sneak peek or do i just open it at the office??  I ended up taking a sneak peek of course....

I got an order of the Traditional perogies which is automatically topped with bacon and caramelized onions... (had no idea..-- not a big fan of bacon for those that don't know..but i won't not eat it.. so i ate it :) ) and an order of the Tijuana Baba sausage! :) served with a side of SPICY (and delicious) mustard, and sour cream!

VERDICT: of course i loved it! I love any food that comes out of a truck!! only because i've never really had anything other than fries and a hot dog from a truck... Toronto.. GET ON THIS!
